About Urinary Incontinence.

Urinary incontinence typically happens when the muscles that keep your bladder closed are either too weak or too active. When the muscles are too weak, this is called stress incontinence, and it usually occurs when you laugh, cough, sneeze, or lift a heavy object. Urge incontinence happens when your bladder muscles are too active and you feel a strong need to urinate even when you only have a little urine in your bladder. Nerve damage can also cause urinary incontinence.

Fortunately, urinary incontinence can be treated. Treatment depends on the type of problem you have and what best fits your lifestyle. It could include anything from simple exercises to medicines, special devices or procedures.
